Here we are going to learn life as a 9-10 year old life in mexico. We're going to learn about the food, school, holidays, and activities. You will see stuff you've never seen before.

Introduction

First I will tell you about what foods we would be eating. I would eat tamales. It is a kind of food that has starchy kind of bread called masa with a spicy kind of meat then wrapped in a banana leaf or dried corn husk. It goes great with hot sauce. It is a traditional kind of food.

School

Now I will tell you about what school is about. The grade I would be in now would be fifth grade. I would have to wear an uniform like the one shown to the right. I would go through 3 level of school. I would have to take a test to get into high school because of the limited spots only the top students are taken. College is the same way, but it is free tuition unlike the U.S. Instead students have to pay back their schooling with a year of service.

Now I will tell you about me in Mexican home. I would be able to go to the store alone because the store is usually on the corner. I would play fut-boll which is the same thing as soccer. My home would look like the home on the right.

Home

Now I will tell you about one of the Mexican holidays that I celebrate. It is called Posadas. Posadas start on December 16th, or the 9 days before Christmas Day. Every day a different family invites everyone to their home. We all pray the rosary and then. We eat the dinner provided by the family.
